sounexplainable
is anybody else reading a people's history along with the text assigned with the class to have two polar opposite viewpoints on the same thing?

[For all of you procrastinators looking at this instead of working on homework]
The wikipedia.com site also tends to have good information.
So check that out if you get stuck or have trouble finding something.
Especially good for specifics on dissents.

For all of you struggling with the court cases,

if you have an AVL card, Encyclopedia Britannica can be really helpful
as well as other sites they offer.

Good Luck, kids!

OH SNAP.

It's that time again.

APUSH TIME!

have you finished your summer reviews? I hope so! haha
and you wish so!

Don't forget LEP CH. 17 & 18, the quiz on that coming, and the cumulative test arriving in the first week and 1/2.

Good Luck!

Well kiddos,
it's about that time again.

Time for downloading LEP notes so you don't have to read the chapters, for late night hang outs with your Amsco, for turning in your DBQ with a time-date of 1:00 AM, for cramming in those last minute online quizzes the morning before a test, for falling asleep in class the next day because you've stayed up all night studying it anyway.

Oh yes, let the good times roll.
(and may the force be with you as you finish up those summer reviews!)

study group? [16 May 2005|08:07pm]

fairycreampuff
okay all you apushers, listen up:

would you possibly like to have a quick study session monday morning in the library before we have the exams? i know all of the classes in our grade have the exam next week so that would probably be the best time.

so lets review:
what: cram session
when: monday, may 23rd
where: the library
time: 7:15am (can change) until 8:15
bring: AMSCO, LEP, notes, and REA (if have one) *maybe food? if the library allows

we can go over any chapters you fell you need to discuss and do some sample questions

comment if this sounds good and you want to come

i don't know about you all, but the suspense from waiting on essay returns is driving me crazy.
who knows how the grade's going to turn out? as that is basically going to dictate the outcome of your overall grade.
but i guess i'll just keep waiting.
also, i don't know how many of you have started on your outside assignments yet, but it's a tricky sort. i was trying for the cartoon one but can't find anywhere that will tell me where the cartoon was first published. i can find plenty of good cartoons, but that doesn't do me any good if i don't know where they came from. so if any of you find somewhere where that information is avaliable it's be great if you could send me words of encouragement that they ARE out there. b/c i tried for several hours yesterday with scarce success.
thanks, and good luck on your own projects!

May 6th is coming up! I'm actually pretty excited. How are you guys all feeling?

Anyway, I have a request. My APUSH teacher asked us this at the very beginning of the school year, and he wanted us to spread it around. So, if you wouldn't mind, everyone at CDO High School in Arizona would very much appreciate it if you would write "P.S: I want to dance with Eleanor Roosevelt" after your very last essay. Thank you very much.

Good luck everyone! Don't forget to be the history!!

Class Open [13 Mar 2005|09:54pm]

brightnblueyed
Ready for class opening this week?

Make sure you're prepared for number 5!

Week of 3/14

To what degree were the Jacksonians the heirs of Jeffersonians? In what ways did they expand or contradict Jeffersonian ideas?

In what ways was Jackson a states’ rights advocate? A nationalist? (Include, but don’t limit your discussion to, Jackson’s views on defiance of national authority and the courts.)

What principles guided Jackson’s economic views and policies? Comment on the wisdom of Jackson’s principles and his policies in regard to economics.

In what ways did Calhoun’s concept of concurrent majorities address the Madisonian dilemma (majority rule, minority rights)? Why did Calhoun feel concurrent majorities were needed? How did Jackson’s theory of government, and particularly of the executive, address the Madisonian dilemma?

If Jackson and Hamilton fought a duel, who would win? (Okay, so this one is just to make sure you’re paying attention and see which you bother to read these questions.)

see you soon!

hey kids

just wanted to encourage you to get on the studying!
and the essay, if you haven't done it.

i advise at least re-skimming the amsco and
take AS MANY online quizzes as you can. and if you get one wrong, figure out what the right answer is and commit it to memory.

if you go back a little ways i think there are prob. some links you can go to.
but if you're lazy, here are a couple for starters:

http://www.historyteacher.net/USQuizMainPage.htm

http://college.hmco.com/history/us/bailey/american_pageant/11e/students/ace/index.html

http://occawlonline.pearsoned.com/bookbind/pubbooks/nash5e_awl/chapter6/deluxe.html

and if you're smart, you'll favorite those.

GOOD LUCK! =)

Notes - sign up [28 Dec 2004|09:08am]

brightnblueyed
So. Unfortunatly, the return of school is nearing. And i know none of you want to hear that.
But since i remembered that yesterday I also remembered our plan to buy the amazing notes from the history sage webpage. [http://www.historysage.com/basics.phtml]
This is a sign-up sheet for if you want to pitch in to the cost of that. If we can get four people in then it only costs five dollars for the best APUSH outside aide we've got!
Once we get them I'll prob. get them out to others through emails. But that can be manipulated if others have ideas.
Anyone interested?
Sign up now! =D
